Friends said the Welsh heart-throb, 35, has been seeing Charlotte Gooch since a chance encounter behind the scenes at her West End musical Top Hat.Gethin’s mum had accidentally walked into leading actress Charlotte’s dressing room when he took his parents to a night at London’s Aldwych Theatre in January.

A showbiz source said last night: “It was a bit of a strange first encounter, but despite that they hit it off straight away and stayed in contact. He asked her out on a date and they have been out several times since.

“They were trying to keep it a bit low key, but he has started telling people about her and seems really happy. It’s only early days but all the signs are really positive.”

Gethin’s party had been invited backstage by former Holby City actor Tom Chambers, who also stars in the hit musical.Charlotte, from Epsom, Surrey, is Gethin’s first girlfriend since he split from Katherine in 2011 after a 10-month engagement. The glamorous soprano, 32, described herself as “beyond heartbroken”. The source added: “Katherine will want Gethin to be happy, but seeing him with another woman is always going to be slightly upsetting for her.”

Charlotte, 27, who has been dancing since she was three, has appeared in productions of Dirty Dancing and Fly With The Stars. After they met Gethin tweeted: “@Charlotte_Gooch sorry for the changing room intrusion… by my mum! Thanks for a fab show – class …x.”
She replied: “@GethinJones hehe not at all, she was lovely. Glad you liked it, lovely to meet you x.”Ex-Blue Peter host Gethin joined ITV’s Daybreak last year.

Smash will finally be answering the season-long question of who will be playing Marilyn Monroe—Ivy (Megan Hilty) or Karen (Katharine McPhee)—in the NBC hit’s season finale tonight. We just caught up with stars Hilty, Debra Messing and Christian Borle at NBC’s upfront presentation in New York to discuss all things finale and the show’s new showrunner for season two. Oh, and Megan addressed the rumors that she’s dating Smash guest star Nick Jonas. (Plus, she kind of reveals who wins the role of Marilyn to us. No big deal!)
So what can we expect from tonight’s sure-to-be showstopping finale? Here’s what Debra, Megan and Christian had to share with us…

Yes, she’s talking about costar Jack Davenport, who plays director Derek, and yes, she’s kidding. While she wouldn’t spill on who’s donning the infamous Marilyn wig, Megan teases, “There are a lot of cliffhangers, and one number in particular is going to floor everybody.” Is she part of that number? “Maybe,” she coyly answers.
Speaking of Jack, Megan says fans of Derek and Ivy shouldn’t get their hopes up about the couple’s long-term potential. “I think they’re good for each other for right now, but that’s it,” she tells us. “I don’t foresee a huge future for them.”
Of the finale, Christian says fans can expect “a fantastic new song,” which he says may be the show’s best yet, and “some nail-biting, down-to-the-last second drama, whether or not the show will actually even go on.” Messing adds, “It’s chock-full of surprises!”
